Ingredients

  • ½ cup rolled oats

  • 1 cup milk (or water)

  • 1 small apple, diced

  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup

  • Pinch of salt

  • Optional toppings chopped nuts, raisins or flaxseeds

Instructions

  • Add rolled oats, milk, and a pinch of salt to a saucepan

  • Place over medium heat and bring to a gentle simmer

  • Stir in diced apple and cinnamon

  • Cook for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until creamy

  • Remove from heat once oats are soft and thick

  • Stir in honey or maple syrup if desired

  • Serve warm and add toppings of choice

    • Use almond or oat milk for a dairy-free version

    • Add a scoop of protein powder for extra protein

    • Swap apple for pear or berries for variety
